An Introduction

Published by elizabeths at 4:26 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I’m going to start this blog out as simply as possible.

In my experience, many people who search information online are otherwise scared off by circumventive sentences, confusing explanations that rely on a reader’s extensive previous knowledge, and endless posts/articles where it is impossible to target the details you need.  This is why, for example, Wikipedia has become such a modern phenomenon — besides the fact that online users can write and edit entries themselves, the site is organized in such a way that you can find exactly what you are looking for hassle-free on each page.  While I cannot in any way compare Wikipedia to a little site like my own, I plan on putting as much information as possible about human rights and current humanitarian crises on this site in an accessible way that encourages readers, rather than frightening them away.  After all, the largest constraint in the fight for human rights is the fact that most people do not even know what atrocities are being carried out in the world, either because they do not look hard enough or because their media have failed them.  This is my first goal; we’ll see where it goes from there.
